There was a time when whatever I touched turned to gold, well almost!
Now I’d be happy if for one thing I could toast,
I look around me and see only doom,
Nothing upbeat, nothing to wipe out the gloom,
There was a time when I’d flutter like a butterfly,
Flitting in and out, I had wings to fly,
Now I feel clipped,
Weigh my words if not tight lipped,
The magic seems to have gone,
No success in what I take on,
Now I put in more effort,
Am more diligent but the results inert,
Earlier it was effortless and easy,
Life was facile and breezy,
Perhaps unstructured and messy,
But definitely bright and glossy!
