Last weekend we were hit by a hurricane,
To this quiet den it brought in some rain,

The shrill sounds echoed from each room,
As it swept aside the serenity as if with a broom,

The hurricane was fierce, I would say,
Full of energy, it could make the placid lake sway,

My girl was mighty thrilled with the adventure,
She welcomed it with open arms and promised a joint venture,

Imagine when that becomes a reality,
The house would come down, you’ve got to agree,

I think we needed the hurricane,
To shake us up in our sleepy terrain,

Now the storm has receded,
It was a welcome change, much needed,
We must baptize this epitome of zeal,
I think the apt name would be Neil
