An amusing thing happened today,
I was waiting for breakfast at the tuck shop bay,
There I see a bunch of youngsters trotting my way,
And I recognize a couple of them I taught through learn and play,

Weren’t you with us in nursery? one asked,
Yes dear I beamed happiness I couldn’t mask,
She smiled and pulled a friend,
Look look ma’am she was with us she said as the stairs she began to descend,

Her friend I remembered,
But confusion reigned on her face as she murmered,
She peered closely at me and exclaimed in a voice loud and bold,
“Oh ma’am, you’ve become so old!”

The happiness at being remembered vanished,
Suddenly I remembered I was famished,
I dug into my sandwich and coffee,
And also ordered samosa to cheer poor old me!
