Now I know why it’s called ‘biting cold’,
It cuts through even the strongest stronghold,
Now when it’s time for it to go,
It’s begun to come in with full gusto,

Yesterday’s rain with it brought,
A biting chill that no one sought,
In fact, many had thought,
To put away the blankets they had bought,
But yesterday’s rain with it brought,
A biting chill that no one sought,

Yesterday’s rain with it also brought,
Havoc in my garden that I had carefully wrought,
My chrysanthemums lay in their beds all distraught,
Disheveled and forlorn by the untimely onslaught,

The flowers weren’t the only ones hit,
We humans were equally bit,
It’s tough to venture out for daily chores,
When you’d rather snuggle up in your blanket indoors,

Oh this rain yesterday with it brought,
A biting chill that no one sought
