A walk down the colony lanes,
What a delight as you get a peek through the window panes,
Of homes in their typical milieu,
In shades of green, purple and blue,

The smell of scrumptious food greets you,
As you walk past a house the aroma wafts through,

At another bend two siblings squabble,
As they both tug at the remote – so adorable,

There are many like us on the stroll,
Some meandering while others determined with their goal,

Along with us our furry friends also join in,
Greeting their friends as they bump in,

I am pleased with my walk,
I like what I see around the block,
The air is sweet smelling,
Temperature plummeting,
Happy banter pervades the air,
And I send up a small prayer
