The chill is tearing through my bones,
Legs are stiffening like hard stones,
I wish I was wrapped up in a warm blanket,
With a warm cuppa and a chips packet,

I thought the weather was getting warmer,
But yesterday’s rain was the transformer,
The temperature’s suddenly taken a dip,
And all you can think is a warm quilt and hot chai to sip,

But look at my baby so brave,
The cold and fever she did stave,
So that she could come to school,
Be with her friends and generally play the fool,

I have so much to learn from her,
She’s always been the one to spur,
Even now her energy is pervasive,
And I find myself being collusive
