My baby’s chest swelled with pride,
In a long time I haven’t seen her smile so wide,
She has been made in charge of Christmas decorations in her class,
A responsibility she’s confident in flying colours will pass,

She came home bursting with excitement,
Animatedly instructing me about the assignment,
She made sure the tree was in place,
Complete with stars, bells, and presents at the base,
She also made sure the crib was taken out,
All the statuettes dusted, cleaned leaving no scope for doubt,

Today she marched into school feeling upbeat,
All geared up for the decoration feat,

I watched my baby with delight,
Looking all happy, purposeful and bright,
And I salute her for her enthusiasm,
Her positivity, drive and optimism
