I woke up to the pitter patter of the rain,
Drumming rhythmically against my window pane,
A lazy smile spread across my face,
As if to outline the day’s pace,

I snug deeper into my cozy blanket,
To soak in as much of the weather I could get,
Then I turned to look at my little one,
Immersed in her dreams my honey bun,

Slowly I crawled to the balcony door,
To watch this much awaited downpour,
I let the droplets splash on my face,
The freshness of it I allowed myself to embrace
