It’s an instant age,
From noodles, coffee, news and even rage,

So when one has to wait,
Even for few minutes one frets about being late,

So yesterday when we were queued for hours before the bank,
It wasn’t surprising how people began to crank,

Imagine in the time of the ATM,
Waiting to withdraw money outside the bank sure created mayhem,

And as I stood in line waiting for my turn,
I thought of the gone by days when there were no such heartburn,

When things were not so instantaneous,
And waiting was never extraneous,

Those were the days when people were more patient,
It was OK to be complaisant,

What is it with today’s urge,
To always race ahead and winner emerge,
Can we not just be,
And take life easy?
