I wish I could go to sleep,
Bury my responsibilities in some corner deep,
Curl my legs up and unwind,
Leave behind all the fetters that bind,

I wish I could throw up my hands,
Shriek and shout from the stadium stands,

I wish I could roam around in gay abandon,
Indulge in some frolic guerdon,

But most of all what I wish for,
Is for my baby’s life to restore,
I wish for her to walk and talk,
To prance around and simply rock!
