I knew the poha would not suffice,
I knew I needed something more substantial and nice,

So I headed to the tuck shop yet again,
To see what was there that I could bargain,
My eyes veered towards the fluffy dough,
The delectable eatery only added to my woe,

And as I struggled with my temptation,
I decided to call my relation,
She appeared submerged in her work,
As if that was life’s only perk,

Next I called up my spouse,
And he seemed to share the same grouse,
So I decided to throw caution to the wind,
I’ll be damned if I had to be thinned,

As I reached out for the golden puff,
I was mysteriously stopped sure enough,
There on the display rack lay,
A chickpea salad that saved my day…
